RecruitGibraltar are currently helping our client who is a market leading financial services company who has a great opportunity for an Assistant Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Teamís day to day operations as well as the month end accounting tasks and to assist the Head of Financial Reporting with all month/quarter/year end related tasks.
What will you do as an Assistant Finance Manager?
Responsible for managing a team of 3 accounts assistants and ensuring they perform their duties as well as enhancing their personal development.
Accounts Payable are authorized and settled in a timely manner, accruals and prepayments correctly recorded and month-end reporting deadlines for accounting entries / reconciliations are achieved.
Accounts Receivables are invoiced promptly, and escalation procedures put in place to obtain settlement of invoices in line with the companyís Credit Policy.
Recharge to clients of third party fees are invoiced promptly and settled quickly.
Reports are prepared and stored securely to support reconciliation and billing of clients.
Maintenance of procedures documentation for all tasks.
Ensure that all client queries and requests are resolved within agreed SLAs.
Managing the completion of month/quarter/year end reporting and accounting reconciliations within strict deadlines.
Preparation of ad-hoc reports and reconciliations to support the audit process, disputes and queries from clients.
Monthly analysis of income and expenditure.
Assisting the Head of Financial Reporting with month end procedures including the review of the income statement, balance sheet and regulatory reporting.
Processing routine, correcting and revaluation journals in the accounting system.
Any ad-hoc request required by senior management.
What do you know that makes you a great Assistant Finance Manager?
Knowledge of Finance, Accounting & Reporting requirements, including accounts up to Trial Balance
Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills
AAT qualified with minimum PQE 3 years or final stage of ACCA, ACA, CIMA or recently qualified.
Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
Previous managerial experience
Planning and organising own work unsupervised
Producing work output to the highest standard
Analytical and investigative skills for resolving variances
Exceptional attention to detail
Previous use of Oracle Financials (or similar) would be an advantage
Salary circa £35k based on experience plus package
