What will you do as a Assistant Financial Controller?
o Management accounts on a monthly basis
o Variance analysis on a quarterly basis
o Quarter end reports that will be submitted to the group
o Reinsurance workings
o Actuarial reports to be sent out to the group
o Local regulatory filing
Analysing profitability by class of business;
Aiding in the yearly strategic business plan, cost allocation, exercises, forecasting and budgets;
Preparation of ad-hoc reports requested by management and discuss financial concepts whilst interpreting the impact of accounting decisions on the company;
Providing oversight, assistance and guidance to other team members within the Finance department;
Review and interpret technical accounting standards so as to present accurate financial information to internal and external stakeholders;
Prepare thorough report as requested by auditors
What do you know that makes you a great Assistant Financial Controller?
Previous experience in a senior accounts role
Preferably an in depth knowledge of the insurance market.
Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel to advanced level.
Qualified Accountant (Bachelor of Commerce, ACCA or similar qualification);
Fluent in English and Maltese and able to communicate both in writing and orally;
Reporting research skills;
Well organised and quick to adopt as per company exigencies;
Salary based on experience with benefits package.
